Here you will find the application for graduation and the resume application forms, among other things. If you are taking the Summer term off completely and intent to return in the Fall, you will need to fill out a resume application.

Early Notice to Summer 2007 Graduates

The application for graduation can be found at the following site: http://philly.devry.edu/application-for-graduation.pdf.

This must be completed by Saturday, October 6, 2007, for students graduating at the end of the summer term.

Applications will be excepted between September 5th and October 6th. Applications for all students at Fort Washington, Valley Forge and Center City must be sent to me. Non campus based students may fax or mail their applications after visiting their local student finance advisor. My contact information is:

Summer Registration Continues

Have you registered yet? Has your new best friend from your last class registered? Degree completion programs are designed to help you actually finish your degree. This can only happen if you register for classes early and consistently. July 2007 is the beginning of a new financial year for federal aide programs. It may be possible for you to get additional funding if you make sure to apply this week! This may be the help you need to finish your program this year or next Spring. Please make time to come in, email or call me, your faculty advisor or your Center Dean regarding registering for Summer classes.

New Procedures in Effect
If you are not planning on taking Summer Session A classes but you are planning to take Session B classes, you MUST send me a letter of intent stating this fact. It will allow you to not appear to creditors as if you have stopped attending school. It will also help insure that you are still on my roster as a TM student. Please make sure you send me this notice of intent. It can be a simple 1 or 2 line email that I can forward to the Registrar's Office on your behalf. You will start noticing a zero (0) credit course for each session that you are not taking classes on your schedule. This is that place holder that will allow the system to see you as a continuing student.

Moving Forward

For those who are not yet finished with your programs, the march forward continues! This summer semester will be a fun time in the PA Metro. There will be classes of course but there will also be some great events and programs launched that will enhance your extracurricular experience. For those interested in sports, there is a student/staff intramural league with teams competing in volleyball, basketball, street hockey, softball, dodge ball and soccer. Congratulations Graduates!

Thursday, June 21st at the Keswick Theater the University bid a fond farewell to over 120 graduates from the DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management degree programs. It was an impressive and moving ceremony. The undergraduate speaker, Adam Mundy, even wrote a poem to commemorate the occasion! This was the first student speaker from the Technical Management program to be chosen for this amazing honor. As the choir sang "For Good" from the musical Wicked, the theme from the chorus seemed to be a perfect fit for the day. "Who can say if I've been changed for the better but because I knew you, I have been changed for good." This eventually resolved into the final statement from the song, "I do believe I have been changed for the better and because I knew you... I have been change for good." To the graduates, I wish you all an amazing summer and the best of everything!

Business Honor Society- Sigma Beta Delta

Sigma Beta Delta is currently seeking new members. Sigma Beta Delta is an honor society which is open to undergraduate Business Administration and Technical Management students, as well as graduate Business Administration students, that meet the following criteria:
1. Must have completed 50% of your credits
2. 3.5 GPA
3. Top 20% of all business students.
In addition, we are seeking Sigma Beta Delta members that are interested in becoming student officers.

Summer 2007 Important Dates

Session A classes begin July 9, 2007 and end September 2, 2007.
Session B classes begin September 3, 2007 and end October 28, 2007.
Standard classes begin July 16, 2007 and end October 28, 2007.

There will be no classes on Monday, September 3, 2007 due to the Labor Day holiday.

The last day to register for online classes for Session A is Friday, July 6, 2007.
The last day to register for on site classes is Friday, July 13, 2007.

Faculty Advisors & You

Beginning the week of June 11, 2007, many of you will get contacted by a faculty member or program dean regarding your academic progress and upcoming registration. Don't be alarmed! This is a part of the University's effort to get students connected to faculty members outside of the classroom via academic advising. While I will still be coordinating the programs and working 1 on 1 with most of the Fort Washington students, I will be joining forces with a few dedicated educators from the General Education program to provide targeted academic advising.

The following faculty will be participating in the advising program: Barbara Hamilton (bhamilton@devry.edu), James Schneider (jschneider@devry.edu), Dr. Ryan Mitchell (rmitchell@devry.edu) and Dr. Kathleen Pearle- Dean of General Education (kpearle@devry.edu). When you hear a new voice on your phone or see a new name in your email, please respond and get to know them well. They have all been trained to work with the BSTM program students and are all full time members of the faculty.

Summertime and the livin' is easy...

Yes, there are thoughts of vacation, barbeques and generally getting some R & R floating through your head right. But wait! What about continuing on towards your goal of finishing your bachelor's degree?!? You've worked so hard and have made a great decision to get 'er done here at DeVry. Make the most of the Summer semester and take 1 or 2 classes that are needed towards your graduation requirements.
